Misconceptions About Dog Rescue
Rescue is a place to
get a puppy cheap...
Think again. There are NO puppies!
For a puppy you must contact a breeder. Don't EVER, EVER get a dog from a pet store.
All pet stores are supplied from puppy mills, not matter what
they tell you.
Most rescue dogs
are over four years old, but little dogs live an average of 15 years.
Regardless, rescue is not even a place to get an adult dog cheap. If
money is an issue, you should not consider getting anything other than a
stuffed animal. Live animals, like children, have significant
needs, medical and others, and some of them can be expensive. Rescue dogs are no
exception. Sometimes their needs are even greater. Rescue is
a place
to adopt a dog if you care about these little doggies and want to help one
by giving him/her a good home and tons of love. Rescue is not a place to save money.
Rescue is a place to get a dog that's already housebroken...
These dogs are sometimes
already housebroken, but any pet brought into a new home
must be treated as if it is not
housebroken until it adjusts to the new home. You
must understand that these little guys are losing their
homes and treat them as if they are small children who
have been taken away from their parents. In many ways
dogs are always small children! Many of them will be
scared and need to be housebroken again.
Rescue is a place to get love and devotion...
You're RIGHT! Dogs
will not show their true personalities for many months
due to fear and adjustment to a new home. It takes a home with tons of
love and patience to give these dogs, the reward for this patience is
love and devotion beyond human comprehension! All of
these little dolls will provide you with unqualified love, companionship
and appreciation you can see in their warm brown eyes.
